1990年毕业于沈阳药科大学，1993年赴日本长崎大学留学，98年获药学博士学位。后在日本生物技术公司就职，2000年作为南开大学引进人才回国任教。
长期从事药学及相关领域研究，在生物技术制药、中药现代化等领域积累了丰富的经验。曾先后主持和承担“973”、“863” 国家“十五”重点攻关、“十一五”重大新药创制以及国家自然科学基金、天津市科技支撑、天津市重点基金等多项科研项目，发表相关国内外学术论文80余篇, 其中SCI收录论文40篇，此外还申请发明专利10项。2008年获得天津市优秀留学归国人员，中国轻工业联合会科技进步三等奖；2009年天津市“五一”劳动奖章，宝钢教育基金奖。
